National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship's Kauffman fellowship awards
The Kauffman Fellowship is designed to teach science, engineering and technology undergraduates or postgraduates how to develop their entrepreneurial skills and ideas, competencies and capabilties to start a business following completion of the fellowship.

We have just received information about this years National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship's Kauffman fellowship awards.
The Fellowship offers a 6 month placement in the United States and provides the opportunity to meet with America's most innovative entrepreneurial thinkers, experts, universities and businesses.

The University of Leeds has been asked to nominate students to apply for the fellowship. There are criteria for applying, including being a current student and likely to graduate in 2007/2008, to be 21 by 1st January 2008 (for Visa purposes) to be an EU National, to have a clear product which is beyond the design concept but is pre-concept funding stage, and finally, to be committed to starting your business when you return from the fellowship.

If you are interested in the fellowship, please follow this link and read the information for applicants:

If you think you would be eligible and you wish to apply, please would you contact Jo Young as soon as possible and we can arrange a meeting to discuss this. The deadline for applications is 1st May 2007 and bearing in mind we will have to nominate you before you can apply, if you are interested, we will need to move forward with this swiftly. If your business idea is connected in any way to your degree, please contact your tutors to discuss this before proceeding.

Some of you may already know Scot Devlin, the winner of this year's University of Leeds Business Plan Competition. Scot has been a Kauffman fellow this year and says that the experience is amazing. He has had access to the foremost entrepreneurial thinkers, academics and business owners in America, has travelled all over the USA and has gained a wealth of knowledge and contacts to support him with his business idea.

I look forward to hearing from you!
